PLKS work permit renewal management

Missed renewals are one of the most common (and most preventable) causes of foreign worker permit lapses in Malaysia. We track every PLKS expiry date across your workforce and initiate renewal 90 days out — before it becomes a compliance emergency.

Why Renewal Management Matters

An expired PLKS is not a paperwork delay — it's an illegal worker

The moment a PLKS lapses, the worker's legal status in Malaysia lapses with it. Employers face fines, forced repatriation, and quota blacklisting — all avoidable with a proper tracking system.

Centralised Expiry Tracking

Every worker's PLKS expiry date logged in one system, with renewal initiated automatically at the 90-day mark.

FOMEMA Re-Screening

Mandatory annual medical re-examination scheduled and tracked alongside the permit renewal cycle.

Levy Payment Coordination

Annual levy payment processed via FWCMS/eServices ahead of renewal submission — no permit is renewed on a levy default.

i-Kad & Documentation Update

Biometric i-Kad renewal processed in parallel so worker identification documents never fall out of sync with permit status.

FAQ

PLKS renewal FAQ

How early should PLKS renewal be started?
At least 90 days before expiry. This allows time for FOMEMA re-screening, levy payment processing, and government approval turnaround without risking a lapse.
What happens if a worker's PLKS expires before renewal is complete?
The worker becomes undocumented and cannot legally continue working. Employers risk fines, and the worker may face detention or repatriation. Immediate reporting and remediation with Immigration is required if this occurs.
Can you manage renewals for workers we didn't recruit through Andaraya?
Yes — permit renewal management is available as a standalone service regardless of which agency handled the original recruitment.
